Open access agreement for authors at eligible Finnish institutions

Publish open access with Wiley

Authors affiliated with participating FinELib institutions may publish primary research and review articles in any of Wiley's and Hindawi's fully gold open access journals or in any of Wiley's hybrid (subscription) journals) that offer open access, at no further charge to the author.

When selecting open access, please note FinELib institutions insist on a CC BY license where available and your institution may not approve the request if you have not selected this license. If the journal does not offer CC BY as standard, please contact your university or library open access team with questions on the best way to proceed.

Publishing open access:

• Complies with funder or institution mandates
• Allows you to retain copyright through a CC-BY license
• Enables automatic deposit in PMC (when appropriate)

To be eligible:

• Your manuscript must be accepted for publication in a Wiley hybrid (subscription) journal that offers open access on or after 1 January 2023, or submitted to a Wiley or Hindawi fully open access journal on or after 1 January 2023.
• You must be the
  responsible corresponding authorThe responsible corresponding author is the author who manages the manuscript and correspondence during the publication process - from submission through publication. This author has the authority to act on behalf of all the co-authors and will also be the contact for inquiries after publication.
  who is affiliated with an eligible FinELib institution at the point of acceptance. If you are no longer affiliated with an eligible institution at the point of acceptance of your paper, you do not qualify.
• For your article to be eligible you must be affiliated with an institution who is taking part in the agreement (such affiliation is not necessary at all stages of the research process).
• For hybrid journals, you must order hybrid open access by using the order workflow on Wiley Author Services.
• For Wiley fully open access journals, refer to and follow the steps laid out in this guide, or declare your affiliated institutions when requested during the submission process, to submit your article’s open access APC to said institutions.
• If you are submitting an article to publish in a Hindawi fully open access journal, follow this guide. Please clearly identify your eligible institution against your affiliation when entering your article details, and that will allow us to ensure your article is considered for the agreement.
• Your article must be primary research or a review article¹
• This agreement cannot be used to cover additional charges (e.g. cover, color, and page charges), which individual journals administer separately
